Pakistani rupee recovers against US dollar

KARACHI: The Pakistani rupee appreciated by 30 paisa against the US dollar in the intraday trade. According to forex dealers, the greenback is currently trading at 166.57 against the domestic currency at the interbank foreign exchange market. The dollar had finished at Rs166.87 against the local unit the other day. Sri Lanka announces new cricket premier league in August

COLOMBO: Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) on Monday said the country will resume top-level cricket from next month with a new premier league tournament. SLC said the proposed 23-match Lanka Premier League (LPL) involving five teams will start on August 28 and end on September 20. Zimbabwe’s ruling party, Zanu PF, has accused the US embassy of sponsoring Friday’s planned anti-government protests and threatened to expel its ambassador. 23 more die, 936 test positive for coronavirus in past 24 hours

ISLAMABAD: As many as 936 new coronavirus cases and 23 deaths were reported in the country over the past 24 hours, taking the national tally of cases to 275,225 and fatalities to 5,865.
