Accountability court defers indictment of Agha Siraj Durrani in assets case

KARACHI: An accountability court on Monday deferred indictment of Speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani and other accused in assets beyond known sources of income case. Agha Siraj Durrani along with co-accused appeared before the court for the hearing, while three nominated accused including a Shamshad Khatton failed to show up before the court. Govt rebuts reports of approving drugs price hike

ISLAMABAD : The Ministry of National Health Services (NHS) has rejected reports that the government has approved an increase in prices of essential drugs. A spokesperson for the ministry said pharmaceutical companies have a right to annually jack up prices of drugs by seven to ten per cent without the government’s approval under Drug Pricing Policy 2018. Positive coronavirus cases in country continue downward trend

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan reported 1,587 new coronavirus cases and 31 deaths in the past 24 hours, taking the national tally of cases to 265,083 and fatalities to 5599, according to the government’s Covid-19 portal. During the period, 19,108 tests were conducted, which led to the emergence of 1,587 new cases.
