Naval chief condoles death of soldiers
Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi condemned targeted IED attack on vehicle of FC South in Balochistan in which an officer and 5 soldiers embraced shahadat. The Naval Chief prayed for elevated ranks of the martyrs and expressed his deep condolences with their bereaved families.
STATEMENT ON THE VISIT TO PAKISTAN BY AMBASSADOR KHALILZAD
Islamabad, May 9, 2020 – U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad visited Islamabad on May 8. He met with Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa. Ambassador Khalilzad discussed ongoing efforts by the United States to advance the Afghan peace process and sought Pakistan’s support in pressing for a reduction in violence, the immediate start of intra-Afghan negotiations, and assistance in helping obtain the freedom of American Mark Frerichs. Pakistan’s military leaders reaffirmed their support for U.S. efforts.
Emirates operates special flights to repatriate Pakistanis from the UAE
PAKISTAN – MAY 08, 2020: Emirates operates special flights to repatriate Pakistani nationals from the UAE. These special flights to Islamabad, Karachi and Peshawar facilitated travel for residents and visitors wishing to return home. Flight EK612 carrying passengers from Dubai International airport arrived in Islamabad at 1630 hours on 07 May, and EK608 arrived in Karachi later on 07 May at 1810 hours.
