Sri Lankan MPs visit PIPS

ISLAMABAD (DNA) -Deputy Speaker of Sri Lanka parliament was accorded a rousing welcome when he Visited ” Pakistan Institute of Parliamentary Services” by the Director General (PIPS) and the Management in Islamabad . He was accompanied by Mohan de silva MP, Neil Iddawela, Chief of Staff and Deputy Secretary General of parliament and the High Commissioner for Srilanka in Pakistan. It was agreed at the discussion to obtain the services of PIPS to improve the quality of Parliamentary Services in Sri Lanka.
Joint session of Parliament witnesses unruly scenes

ISLAMABAD (DNA). The joint sitting of Parliament convened to discuss Indian move to change status of Occupied Kashmir saw unruly scenes when the Opposition parties objected to the contents of the resolution presented Azam Swati. The resolution did not contain mention of Article 370. The opposition also demanded that prime minister Imran Khan should also come to the parliament. After this the Speaker adjourned the session for 20 minutes.
OIC to hold emergency meeting on Kashmir dispute in Jeddah today

JEDDAH (DNA) – An emergency meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir has been called today (Tuesday) in Jeddah – as the Indian government yesterday rushed through a presidential decree to abolish Articles 370 and 35A of its constitution to scrap special status granted to Indian-occupied Kashmir (IOK). UN expresses concern over India’s decision of repealing special status of occupied Kashmir

ISLAMABAD (DNA) – The United Nations has expressed concern over Indian government’s move to revoke the special status of Kashmir, an UN-recognized disputed territory. The concern was expressed by U.N. Secretary-General’s Spokesman Stephane Dujarric while talking to reporters at the regular briefing at the UN Headquarters in New York. Dujarric said the Secretary-General has all along maintained that India and Pakistan should resolve all outstanding disputes between the two countries, including Kashmir, through dialogue.
