Day of Memory and Honour commemorated at Uzbek embassy
ISLAMABAD, MAY 8 (DNA) – Embassy of Uzbekistan commemorated the “Day of Memory and Honor” in Uzbekistan with the participation of representatives of the Uzbek Diaspora and their families permanently residing in Pakistan. Pakistan re-elected as member of UNECOSOC with highest number of votes
ISLAMABAD, (DNA) – Pakistan has re-elected with the highest number of votes as a member of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UNECOSOC). Pakistan’s Representative to the United Nations Maleeha Lodhi said in secret balloting in the 54-member council, Pakistan secured 48 votes to retain its seat on 18-member Commission on Narcotic Drugs for four year term beginning from 1st January 2020. UN assures its support to address HIV outbreak in Larkana

Data Darbar Blast: At Least eight martyred, several injured
LAHORE, (DNA) – According to reports at least four security personnel have martyred in Lahore. A blast was reported near a police vehicle in Lahore’s Data Darbar on Wednesday morning. According to initial reports, the police’s elite force was made the target of the blast. “At least three to four police officials are injured,” officials add. The blast could not immediately be ascertained as a suicide blast. Rescue teams have reached the site of the blast along with a heavy convoy of police forces.
