PNS Shamsheer visits Port Sultan Qaboos, Oman

ISLAMABAD (DNA) – Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) Shamsheer has visited Port Sultan Qaboos of Oman. According to the spokesperson for Pakistan Navy, PNS Shamsheer is deployed in Northern Arabian Sea and Arabian Gulf as part of the regional maritime security patrol.


12 outlaws held; narcotics and snatched valuables recovered

ISLAMABAD, MAY 02 (DNA) – Islamabad Police have arrested 12 outlaws from areas of the city and recovered weapons, narcotics, wine and valuables from them, a police spokesman said.Following the directions of DIG (Operations) Waqar Uddin Syed, all officials of Islamabad police have accelerated efforts to curb activities of anti-social elements and drug pushers.According to details, Secretariat police arrested three accused namely Talah, Johar Abbas and Nawazish and recovered 16 wine bottles from their possession.

Pakistan inflation eases to 8.82 per cent in April: statistics bureau

ISLAMABAD (DNA) – Pakistan’s consumer price inflation eased in April to 8.82 percent on annual basis from 9.41 percent in March, which was the highest level since November 2013, the Bureau of Statistics said on Thursday. On a month-on-month basis, prices increased by 1.26 percent in April. Rising petrol and diesel prices as well as an increase in the cost of food items such as carrots, oranges, cabbage and chicken were the main reasons behind the month-on-month spike in inflation.
