Malaysia’s Axiata scraps $940 million Pakistan deal after regulatory issues

KUALA LUMPUR/SINGAPORE – A unit of Malaysian telecoms firm Axiata Group (AXIA.KL) has called off a $940 million deal to buy 13,000 telecoms towers in Pakistan after regulators there failed to provide all approvals for the transaction announced a year ago. Pakistan flags adorn Riyadh roads as PM Imran Khan visits Saudi Arabia

Khan was due in the Saudi capital on a first official foreign visit since he assumed office on August 18. Photos from Riyadh  showed Pakistani and Saudi flags adorning the main highways  ahead of Khan’s arrival. The prime minister will hold  talks with Saudi leadership before heading to Madina to visit  Roza-e-Rasool (Peace Be Upon Him).
