PPP Agha Siraj Durrani elected as Speaker Sindh Assembly
KARACHI, (DNA) – Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Agha Siraj Durrani has been elected as the speaker of the Sindh Assembly once more. The Sindh Assembly’s session was initially conducted under presiding officer Mir Nadar Magsi. 158 votes were cast in the speaker election. Agha Siraj Durrani bagged 96 votes, while MQM’s nominee Javed hanif was able to bag 59 votes. TLP’s MPA elect Younas Soomro did not participate in the voting process. The elections for the deputy speaker are under way and the assembly session is now being conducted by the newly elected speaker.
PTI MPA passed away after suffering heart attack
ISLAMABAD, (DNA) – In an unfortunate incident, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA-elect Ghulam Abbas Khaaki passed away Tuesday night. He suffered a heart attack three days ago in a hospital. Khaalki had won with 47,429 votes from PP-222, Multan 12 constituency during the July 25 polls. He had defeated PML-N candidate Mehdi Abbas Langah to secure the seat. PTI Mushtaq Ghani elected as Speaker KP Assembly
PESHAWAR, (DNA) – Pakistan Tehreek-Insaf’s (PTI) Mushtaq Ghani has been elected as Speaker of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly on Wednesday. Mushtaq received 81 votes and declared victorious against opposition’s Laiq Mohammad who secured 27 votes. 108 out of 112 members of provincial assembly exercised their voting right. Asad Qaiser elected National Assembly Speaker
ISLAMABAD, (DNA) – Asad Qaiser of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf was elected as Speaker of the National Assembly on Wednesday, according to results announced by outgoing speaker Ayaz Sadiq. LAHORE (DNA) – At least 358 newly-elected members of Punjab Assembly were administered oath on Wednesday by outgoing speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal during the first session that begun after a delay of 46 minutes.
