ECP suspends all Chairman’s, Mayors of local government bodies across country

ISLAMABAD: (DNA) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) suspended on Tuesday all mayors, deputy mayors, chairmen and vice-chairmen of all local government bodies across the country. The suspended heads of local bodies include the chiefs of the cantonment boards across the country. The ECP said the action has been taken to ensure free and fair elections. General elections are set to be held across Pakistan on July 25.


New spell of monsoon to hit parts of country

LAHORE (DNA) – A new spell of monsoon rains is predicted to hit Pakistan in next 48 hours. According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), rain-thundershower with gusty winds is expected at scattered places in Hazara division and Kashmir. The showers will also hit Malakand, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore divisions, Islamabad and Gilgit-Baltistan. Very hot and humid weather is expected elsewhere in the country. Army to assist ECP in conducting free and fair election: DG ISPR

RAWALPINDI: (DNA) –  Major General Asif Ghafoor, Director General Inter-Services Public Relations, on Tuesday said the Election Commission of Pakistan has sought Pakistan Army’s assistance  in   holding  the general election in free and fair manner. Interior Ministry places Nawaz, Maryam’s name on ECL

ISLAMABAD (DNA) – Interior Ministry on Tuesday has placed ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz’s name on Exit Control List (ECL). Following the Avenfield Reference verdict announced by the accountability court, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had requested Interior Ministry to include Nawaz and Maryam’s name on ECL.
