Panama Leaks case hearing postpone till tomorrow

ISLAMABAD, JAN 09, (DNA) – A larger bench led by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa resumed hearing of the Panama Leaks case on Monday after a two-day break. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s lawyer Naeem Bukhari presented evidence over beneficial ownership of the London Flats. Bukhari said that Hussain Nawaz had gifted Rs810 million to Nawaz Sharif. 60 Karachi areas become ‘hot spots’ for mobile phone snatching

KARACHI, JAN 09, (DNA) – The Citizens-Police Liaison Committee has identified 60 places in the sprawling metropolis where incidents of street crimes, particularly snatching of mobile phones, have increased alarmingly, it emerged on Sunday. Another accidental death reported at Gadani ship-breaking yard

KARACHI, JAN 09, (DNA) – The abrupt death of a young worker on Sunday afternoon at the Gadani ship-breaking yard number 69 further reinforced the lack of safety measures in place despite repeated accidents that have resulted in several casualties. Dilshaad, 24, was taking a break at cargo ship Snowdon, owned by Aamer Sattar, when the lock of the emergency lifeboat he was sitting in broke. Islamabad urges World Bank to restart arbitration

WASHINGTON, JAN 09, (DNA) – Pakistan has asked the World Bank to restart the process of arbitration in its water dispute with India despite New Delhi’s objections. Medical checkup of ‘tortured’ child maid Tayyaba completed

ISLAMABAD, JAN 09, (DNA) – Medical examination of Tayyaba – the 10-year-old maid allegedly tortured while working at the residence of an additional sessions judge – was completed on Monday morning at PIMS Hospital. A medical board headed by Dr Javed Akram carried out the checkup. The team obtained DNA samples of Tayyaba as well as samples of burn marks on her back.
