Helicopter crash in Tarbela kills army officer

TARBELA: A military helicopter crashed near Tarbela, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing at least one, a military source confirmed Monday evening. The helicopter was on a routine night training flight when it crashed at Tarbela. An army officer has been killed in the incident. The Pakistan Army officer has been identified as Lt Col Tauqeer. PM Nawaz approves Rs8.48 cut in petrol price

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday announced a reduction in prices of all petroleum-related products. A statement issued from PM House stated that petrol prices are being reduced by Rs8.48 per liter from Tuesday, March 1. Price of High Speed Diesel has been lowered by Rs4.67 a liter while Light Diesel Oil and Hi-Octane have seen a reduction of Rs1.97 and Rs2.98 per liter. Italian company launches products in Pakistan

Taseer’s killer Mumtaz Qadri hanged

RAWALPINDI: Mumtaz Qadri, an Elite Force commando convicted of killing former Punjab governor Salman Taseer, was executed at the Adiala Jail at around 4.30am on Monday, police said. Qadri shot Taseer 28 times in broad daylight in Islamabad’s Kohsar Market on January 4, 2011. He was sentenced for assassinating Taseer on Oct 1 the same year.
