Pakistan “very engaged and cooperative” in fight against terrorism: US

WASHINGTON, Feb 27 (DNA): US Secretary of State John Kerry has rigorously defended Pakistan at a recent Congressional hearing saying that it was “very engaged and cooperative” in the fight against terrorism.During the hearing in Washington DC, the Secretary of State also defended his government’s proposed sale of eight F-16s to Pakistan saying that they were a “critical tool” in Islamabad’s fight against terrorism.


US ambassador inaugurates center for excellence in journalism

KARACHI, Feb 27 (DNA): American Ambassador David Hale and IBA Director Ishrat Hussain launched the Center for Excellence in Journalism (CEJ) at Karachi’s Institute of Business Administration (IBA) on Saturday.The U.S. State Department provided $4 million in funding to construct the center and establish a curriculum and training programs.“A free and professional press is a cornerstone of democracy and played a crucial role in America’s history,” said Ambassador Hale.


PM Nawaz to send pair of bull and cow to Qatar on C-130 aircraft

ISLAMABAD, Feb 27 (DNA): A C-130 aircraft will be operating from Lahore to Qatar on February 28 to deliver a pair of bull & cow (Sahiwal breed) as a gift from Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to Emir of State of Qatar.According to sources, Pakistan International Airline (PIA) will bear all the expenditures.The aircraft will return to Pakistan on 29th of February.
