141 COVID-19 cases registered in Attock

ATTOCK, MAY 30 (DNA) – The District focal person for COVID-19 Dr. Asif Arbab Niazi confirmed registration of eight new more cases reported in the district on Saturday have brought Attock’s total to 141 and Four death.

According to data updated and shared by the district Corona Cell DHA, Dr Asif said that 5,820 people have been tested in the area so far.

He said the number of suspected patients screened has reached 2,195, of which 1,877 have tested negative and the results of 177 people have not been received.

He said 55 people have recovered so far.

Dr. Arbab said most of the cases in the district are of local transmission.

District health authorities have set up a control room at the office of the deputy commissioner, while rapid response teams equipped with personal protective equipment are working round the clock.

Health authorities said that 30 of the new patients are among 179 Pakistanis who recently returned from the United Arab Emirates on board special repatriation flights.

Dr Niazi said that the returning passengers are being quarantined in two facilities in the district, the Punjab Danish School in Jand and the Government Technical College in Attock city.

Dr Niazi said that eight Covid-19 patients are currently being treated in district hospitals. Two are admitted to the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex Hospital in Kamra, two are in the District Headquarters Hospital, three are in the Hazro Tehsil Headquarters Hospital and one is in CMH. They are all stable.

He said that the district administration has also set up a 100-bed quarantine centre in the  Danish School in Tehsil jand for passengers travelling back to the Attock district from abroad.

He said that all the positive cases either in hospital or quarantine are in stable condition. DNA
