10 killed, over 31 injured in Jamshoro accident
JAMSHORO, 24 MAY (DNA) – As many as ten people were killed and more than thirty one others injured when a speeding passenger bus overturned near Indus highway.
According to police officials, the tragic incident occurred near Jamshoro, when the driver of a bus, en route from Shehdadkot to Karachi, lost its control over the vehicle due to over-speeding.
Eight passengers, also including three children, died on the spot as a result of this incident. The deceased persons were said to be residents of Karachi. Soon after the incident, rescue officials rushed to the scene and shifted the injured and bodies to nearest hospitals.
Some ofthe injured have been identified as Hasna Bi Bi, Sajid Bhatti. Javed Ahmed Baloch, Saeed, Ahmed Mangi, Zubaida Bhatti, Sameer Ahmed Mangi, Aisha Solangi, Ghulam Farid Magsi, Muhammad Ayyub Magsi, Sajid and Aarfa Mangi, while four of them, said to be in critical condition, were being treated at L.M.U Hospital Jamshoro.
Fatal road accidents are common in Pakistan, where traffic rules are rarely enforced and roads in many rural areas are in poor condition. Earlier, as many as four bikers were killed when a speeding van collided with a motorcycle and fell into a ravine in road mishap near Sultan Bahu Bridge in Shorkot.
