Six die in landsliding near Lowari Tunnel

FEB 19, (DNA) -Rescue authorities said the incident occurred after landsliding hit Lowari Tunnel workshop following heavy snowfall in the area.
The landsliding in the remote area buried at least 16 people. Of them seven were pulled alive and six dead while rescue was underway to recover three missing.
Officials of Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) and locals took part in the rescue.
Avalanches and landsliding are common in the Chitral, Gilgit, Azad Kashmir and other mountainous areas of Pakistan.
