PSL 2019 – Karachi Kings set 184-run target for Multan Sultans
DUBAI (DNA) – Multan Sultans need 184 runs to win their first match against Karachi Kings in the fourth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
PSL debutant Livingstone and Kings’ opener Babar Azam provided the perfect start for his side but a great comeback from Multan Sultans did not let Karachi Kings continue the runscoring momentum.
Earlier, Karachi Kings won the toss and elected to bat first against Multan Sultans in their first match in the fourth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) at Dubai International Stadium.
There have been 84 PSL matches – on only 18 occasions have the toss winners chosen to bat first. The overall bat first win percentage in the league is 36%. However, batting first is a better option in day matches in Dubai (win 42%) compared to day-night (win 33%).
After losing the toss, Multan Sultans captain Shoaib Malik said: “I wanted to do the same but the toss is not in your hands. Russell arrived yesterday and we have a quite a few big players and PSL is growing every year and I think it is a great sign for our cricket. Andre Russell, Tom Moores, Laurie Evans and Chris Green are our four foreign players.”
Karachi Kings captain Imad Wasim said: “We are gonna bat first. We are gelling together nicely, we had a practice game and had a good couple of days here. Liam Livingstone, Sikandar Raza, Ravi Bopara and colin Ingramare the four foreign players for us.”
