Samsung unveils world’s first Infinity-O display smartphone – Galaxy A8s

BEIJING, DEC 11 (DNA) – South Korean tech giant Samsung has announced the world’s first smartphone with selfie camera hole in the display (Infinity-O display technology) – Galaxy A8s.
The Galaxy A8s features a 6.4-inch IPS LCD with the resolution of 1080×2340 pixels, an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and it incorporates a camera hole that’s 6.7mm wide for the selfie shooter in the upper left corner.
The SoC on the new smartphone is Octa-core Snapdragon 710 processor coupled with Adreno 616 GP, either 6 or 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It can be expanded with a microSD card of up to 512GB.
On the there is a triple-camera setup that consists of a 24MP main sensor with a large f/1.7 aperture and a secondary 10MP telephoto lens with the f/2.4 opening. The third one is used only for depth sensing and it’s 5MP with f/2.2 aperture.
As for the front-facing camera, it’s 24MP with f/2.0 aperture. The fingerprint reader is placed on the right of the device and no headphone port available.
To power the SoC there is a 3,400 mAh battery with adaptive fast charging support over USB-C and runs on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box with Samsung’s UI on top.
It’s available in Blue, Gray, and Green – all appear to be gradient colors – and will be available from December 21st in selected markets.
