ISLAMABAD, DEC 05 (DNA) – Renowned religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jamill has said the root cause of population explosion was poverty therefore the government needed to address this issue on urgent basis.

The Maulana made these remarks while speaking during a conference on population. Prime Minister Imran Khan, Chief Jusitce Mr. Justice Mian Saqib Nisar and others were also present on the occasion.

Maulana Tariq Jamil quoted various verses from Holy Quran and Hadith in support of his argument adding justice system was yet another factor that contributed greatly towards making or breaking of a  society.

He said the edifice of entire welfare states is erected on three main things including justice, economy and education.

While terming the education as mother of all these three factors, the Maulana said government needs to focus much on education because people would know about hazards of population growth only when they are educated.

In this regard, he cited many examples from Islamic history. Pin-drop silence was witnessed during his speech.=DNA
