Pak, China agree Pakistan Railways as backbone of CPEC
ISLAMABAD, (DNA) – Pakistan and China have agreed to boost cooperation between their railways and have deputed technical teams to work out the details in this connection.
Consensus to this effect was reached between two sides at a meeting in Islamabad today (Monday). The Chinese delegation of NRA was headed by An Lusheng while the Pakistani side by its Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed in the talks.
Both sides agreed that the government knows the importance of China Pakistan Economic Corridor and Pakistan Railways is the backbone of CPEC.
Speaking on the occassion, Minister for Railways said no modification will be made in Framework Agreement between National Railway Administration of China and Pakistan Railways.
Sheikh Rashid Ahmed Minister said up gradation of ML-1 should be completed swiftly as the present government is interested in up-gradation of ML-1 and 2.
He said ML-2 and 3 are also important for CPEC and China should give importance to these projects.
