Ceremony held to mark Defence Day at Yadgar e Shuhada in Quetta
QUETTA, (DNA) – To mark the 53rd Defence Day of Pakistan an impressive wreath laying ceremony was held at Yadgar e Shuhada, Quetta Cantt .
CM Balochistan Mir Jam Kamal and Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa jointly laid a floral wreath to pay homage to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the defence of the motherland. A special dua was also offered for all the Shuhada.
Later Mir Jam Kamal and Commander Southern Command attended a reception given in honour of the families of Shuhada.
While speaking to the families of the martyrs CM Balochistan said that the sacrifice of thier loved ones will never be forgotten and countrymen will always remember the supreme sacrifice of those who laid down their lives to ensure the sanctity of the country.
Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa also paid rich tributes to the martyrs and said that Pakistan Army has a rich tradition of chivalry and sacrifices of our Shuhada is a golden chapter in the history of Pakistan.
He added that security forces with the backing and support of the nation is ready to take on any challenge. He also vows to help Government of Balochistan for the capacity building of law enforcement agencies and said that Pakistan Army has chalked out a comprehensive training program for police and levies which will enable them to combat terrorism and enforce the writ of the government. Senators, parliamentarians, General Officers and high ranking civil and military officials attended the ceremony.
