Iranian FM calls on Shah Mehmood Qureshi in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD, (DNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif held a meeting with his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mahmood Qureshi in Islamabad on Friday.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on different aspects of bilateral relations and regional security situation.
Zarif is also scheduled to meet Prime Minister Imran Khan, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser.
This is the first visit of any foreign minister to Pakistan after the formation of new government.
Earlier, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Japan Kazuyuki Nakane paid a courtesy call on FM Qureshi in the capital. The two sides discussed cooperation in trade, investment, human resource development and science and technology.
Qureshi highlighted the new opportunities in Pakistan for trade and investment.
