Another blow to Sharifs as Pakistan contacts Interpol to arrest Hassan, Hussain
ISLAMABAD, (DNA) – The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Thursday has written a letter to Interpol to issue red warrants for former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s sons Hassan and Hussain Nawaz.
Sources said that the letter to Interpol has been written by FIA after getting approval from interior ministry.
Hassan and Hussain Nawaz were formally declared proclaimed offender and a Pakistani court had issued permanent arrest warrants against them.
Sources said that the FIA has requested Interpol to issue red warrants for both Hassan and Hussain Nawaz as they were wanted by Pakistani institutions in Panama case
Hasan and Hussain Nawaz — accused in a corruption ruling that sentenced their father, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, to 11 years in prison — were declared as proclaimed offenders.
Nawaz Sharif was sentenced in absentia to 11 years in prison over a corruption ruling linked to his family’s purchase of luxury flats in London.
