Amendment to Khatam-e-Nabuwat clause: IHC orders govt to make Raja Zafar committee report public
ISLAMABAD, (DNA) – Islamabad High Court has ordered the government to immediately make public Raja Zafar-ul-Haq committee’s report on amendment made in Khatam-e-Nabuwwat oath in Elections Act 2017.
The court released detailed judgment in the Khatam-e-Nabuwwat case on Wednesday.
Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui authored the judgment.
The judgment ruled that oath about religion should be made compulsory for provision of national identity card, passport and electoral rolls.
It stated that parliament failed to understand sensitivity of the issue and could not identify the persons involved in hatching the conspiracy.
