Erdogan lauds UNGA resolution that urges protection for Palestinians
ISTANBUL, JUN 15 (DNA) – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has hailed a UN General Assembly resolution that urges protection for Palestinians.
Speaking after an iftar party in Istanbul, Erdogan said: “I have seen the decision taken by the UN General Assembly as a historic milestone on the Palestinian issue.”
Erdogan said we will never leave the first qibla Jerusalem to the mercy of the invading Israeli state, which certainly only feeds from blood, slaughter and tears.
The Turkish and Algerian-sponsored resolution was adopted in the General Assembly with 120-8 votes.
The resolution blamed Israel for the recent deaths of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and urged the international community to consider protection for Palestinian civilians.=DNA
