Explosion kills five of a family in Peshawar
PESHAWAR, MAY 11 (DNA) – At least five people were killed and two other sustained injuries in an explosion at a hotel on the Grand Trunk Road (GT Road) in Peshawar in the wee hours of Friday.
According to sources, the explosion occurred in Room No 408 at the fourth floor of the hotel. A woman and three children were among the dead. Sources further informed that the deceased were members of the same family.
The explosion was so severe the window panes of nearby buildings were also broken. The blast also damaged several cars parked near the hotel.
Police along with bomb disposal squad reached the spot after the explosion and cordoned off the entire area. Rescue teams also reached the site of the explosion and started operation.
However, cause of the blast is yet to be ascertained.
