CJP lashes out at condition of central jail Peshawar
PESHAWAR, MAY 09 (DNA) – Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Mian Saqib Nisar on Wednesday lashed out at condition of Central Jail and psychiatric hospital in Peshawar during his visit.
The CJP after reaching Supreme Court Peshawar registry visited various sections of the Central Jail and expressed anger over the prison s condition. He also inquired from prisoners about facilities being offered to them in the jail.
Justice Saqib Nisar while lashing out at hospital’s Medical Superintendent (MS) summoned a report from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary.
He also visited the hospital’s kitchen and checked the quality of food being provided to the prisoners.
The CJP also summoned KP Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak and again visited the hospital and jail.
Speaking on the occasion, the KP CM said that he had spent seven days in the central jail and he knew the condition of the jail’s situation.
