China agrees to give Pakistani exporters competitive edge in Chinese markets
ISLAMABAD, MAR 19 (DNA) – Ambassador of China to Pakistan, Yao Jing called on Secretary Ministry of Commerce Muhammad Younas Dhaga in Islamabad.
The ambassador briefed the secretary on the status of Free Trade Agreement between China and Pakistan.
Yao Jing reaffirmed China`s commitment to allay any apprehensions of Pakistan’s local industry.
Expressing satisfaction over the progress of negotiations on Free Trade Agreement, the secretary thanked the Chinese Government for accommodating concerns of Pakistan`s local industry and agreeing to provide competitive edge to Pakistani exporters in China .
The secretary proposed that both sides can meet at an early date for the 10th round of negotiations to finalize the remaining issues so that a formal announcement can be made during visit of Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbassi to China next month.
