PML-N strikes deal with PML-F, MQM-P to secure Senate seats: Arbab
KARACHI, MAR 03 (DNA) – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Sindh chapter leader Arbab Ghulam Rahim on Saturday said the ruling party, Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) and PML-F would be supporting each other in the Senate elections.
Talking to press here, the former provincial chief minister claimed that a deal has been struck between the ruling party and the major opposition parties in Sindh.
He said the ruling party MPAs in Sindh Assembly would be supporting the candidates of PML-F for general seats and MQM-P for technocrat seats of the Senate.
On the occasion, he said “unwritten pacts” have been made among the opposition parties.
With 131 candidates in the race for 52 Senate seats from all the four provinces, as many as 33 candidates are contesting for 12 seats from Sindh for the Senate elections. The polling started at 9:00 am and will continue till 4:00 pm without any break.
Polling stations have been set up in the Parliament House Islamabad and all the four provincial assemblies.
