ISLAMABAD, FEB 17 (DNA) – Omar Ayub Khan joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on Saturday after meeting with party chief Imran Khan.

He expressed complete confidence in the leadership and PTI’s manifesto in the meeeting.

Chief Minister Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak was also present at the meeting.

Omer Ayub served as the minister of state for finance between 2004 to 2007. He joined Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in 2012 was elected as a member of the National Assembly from constituency NA-19 as the party’s candidate in the by-election after 2013 general elections.

In 2015, after being involved a prolonged legal and electoral battle with his opponent over the NA-19, Haripur berth Omar Ayub decided to bow out of the re-poll.

Through a press release and advertisement in the local media, Omar Ayub said his mother was unwell due to which he would not be able to participate in the re-election ordered by the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Omer Ayub is the grandson of former military ruler Ayub Khan.
