NA-154 by-election to be held on Feb 12 next year
ISLAMABAD, DEC 19 (DNA) – After denotifying PTI MNA Jahangir Tareen last week, the Election Commission of Pakistan has officially announced to hold by-election in NA-154 on February 12.
According to the details, candidates wishing to participate in by-election in NA-154 can submit their nomination papers between December 26 and 28.
ECP will issue the final list of candidates after scrutiny on January 16 and issue electoral symbols to the candidates on January 18.
The NA-154 seat became vacant after PTI MNA Jahangir Tareen was disqualified for life by the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) under Article 62 (1) (F) of the Constitution.
The Supreme Court had announced verdict on PML-N leader Hanif Abbasi’s petition filed in November last year. He accused the PTI leaders Imran Khan and Jahangir Tareen of not declaring complete details of their assets to the ECP.
