PEMRA issues notice to TV channels prohibiting talk shows on Hudaibiya case
ISLAMABAD, DEC 11 (DNA) – PEMRA has issued a press release prohibiting the private TV channels from airing live talk shows on Hudabiya Paper Mills case and others versus National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
According to the details, PEMRA has the issued the press release complying with the directive of the apex court.
It was also noted in the PEMRA statement that action will be taken against the private channel or TV program under PEMRA ordinance 2002 in case of violation of the directive.
However, news on the basis of factual reporting on Hudabiya case proceedings in the open court are allowed but no analysis, discussion on merits and demerits of the case is allowed.
Earlier on Monday, Supreme Court (SC) had rejected plea of National Accountability Bureau (NAB), seeking adjournemnt of Hudaibiya Paper Mills case against the Sharif family till the appointment of the new prosecutor general.
