NA passes unanimous resolution against US decision on Jerusalem
ISLAMABAD, DEC 07 (DNA) – The National Assembly on Thursday passed a unanimous resolution condemning the United States’ decision to recognize occupied Jerusalem as the so-called capital of Israel and to move its embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.
The resolution termed it a direct attack on the Muslim Ummah at a time when the Middle East is already beset with wars and conflicts.
It said that the US move is also a violation of international law, several resolutions of United Nations Security Council over the matter, and Global consensus on how to resolve the Palestine conflict.
The National Assembly endorsed the final communique of OIC adopted on Monday last in Jeddah and called on the government to immediately mobilize the Organization of the Islamic Countries seeking concrete diplomatic steps against this US action.
The National Assembly also demanded the United States to immediately take back the its decision.
