Roads blocked, mobile service unavailable due to protests in twin cities

ISLAMABAD, – Due to sit-ins in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, the local authorities have blocked several entry points apart from compromising the mobile phone service temporarily.
The lives of local residents have become difficult following the steps taken by the government. Protestors in the twin cities have made lives tough by putting hurdles on the roads and stopping the flow of traffic.
When approached, the Ministry of Interior refused to comment on the matter while Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) was not even aware of the issue of temporary blockage of mobile phone service.
Several areas of Rawalpindi like Satellite Town, Dhok Kashmirian, Sadiqabad and Shamsabad suffered from temporary blockage of mobile signals. On the other hand, phone service remained compromised in Margalla Town, Sohan, Shakrial and Zero Point and other sectors.
Locals and businessmen complained about the sudden move without any prior notification. They expressed their resentment with the government as well as protestors.
