SC takes notice of female students’ harrassment case in Sindh University Jamshoro
JAMSHORO, OCT 25 (DNA) – SC takes notice of female students’ harassment case in Sindh University Jamshoro. The apex court demanded the comprehensive report regarding the students’ harassment matter within 12 days.
According to the details, teachers in the English literature department were discovered to be harassing female students. The matter reached the Supreme Court after petitions were filed by the students.
The University establishment also took action after the case reached SC and the committee formed under the University’s VC, began the investigation into the matter.
According to the University’s Registrar, the educational institute’s harassment cell had already begun investigation before the matter reached the apex court and told that severe action will be taken against the culprits once the report is finalized.
On the other hand, ASP Jamshoro met Director of the English department to obtain information regarding the scandal. Female students were terrified and uneasy to talk about the matter but did assert that investigation should be undertaken honestly and without bias.
