Nawaz Sharif to arrive in Lahore on October 24
ISLAMABAD, OCT 20 (DNA) – Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif will arrive in Lahore on October 24 after his previous flight schedule was changed, sources said on Friday.
Nawaz who was earlier expected to arrive at the Allama Iqbal International Airport on October 22 will now travel through Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-758 and arrive in Lahore on Tuesday morning.
The deposed PM had left for London on a scheduled trip earlier this month to see his ailing wife Kulsoom Nawaz, who has been undergoing cancer treatment there.
Last week, media reports claimed that the three-time premier was likely to return to the country to appear before an accountability court in three corruption references filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on the instructions of the Supreme Court. However, he was represented by a pleader, Zafir Khan during the hearings of the court and was subsequently indicted in all three references.
Upon his arrival, the ex-prime minister, who has pleaded not guilty, will appear before the NAB court on October 26 to face trial in three references including Avenfiled Apartments, Flagship Investment Limited and 15 other companies and Al-Azizia Company Limited and Hill Metals Establishment.
