LHC Multan bar president submits apology in SC
ISLAMABAD, SEPT 06 (DNA) – Lahore High Court Bar Multan bench President Sher Zaman Qureshi has on Wednesday submitted apology note in the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan over case of misconduct with judge.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar had himself formed a five-member larger bench after the violent clashes between the lawyers and the police to look into the matter.
Mian Saqib Nisar, who headed the bench, remarked that the case has not brought victory or defeat to anybody and asked to wait for the verdict. Furthermore, SC has summoned report from registrar Lahore High Court.
Let it be known that the clashes started when a larger bench of LHC ordered arrest of Sher Zaman Qureshi and another lawyer Qaiser Abbas Kazmi on August 21. Lawyers created a ruckus in reaction and even attempted to enter LHC Chief Justice’s chamber.
They not only broke the main entrance gate but also smashed the walk through gate which was set for security reasons, torturing a policeman on duty and blocking the road for traffic later on. However; Anti-Riot Force (ARF) forced them out of the court premises by using water cannons and tear gas.=DNA
