NA-120 by-polls to see who stands by top court: Imran Khan

LAHORE, AUG 26 (DNA): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has said on Saturday that the by-polls in NA-120 would see who stands by the top court and judiciary in Pakistan and who is against it.

PTI chief addressed a press conference in Lahore and said that why would the people of Pakistan comply with the courts’ orders when a three-time premier Nawaz Sharif did not respect the top court.

“It will be a decisive and historic election that will decide whether people stand by Supreme Court of Pakistan, or a criminal,” he said.

Khan alleged that billions of Rupees that belonged to Pakistan were transferred to foreign bank accounts by corrupt leaders. He said that PTI needs to sensitize the voters of NA-120 constituency over the importance of the September 17 by-poll.

PTI chief said that Nawaz Sharif lied to the court and that he should have been thrown in a prison.

Imran Khan said that NA-120 by-elections is the decisive event and that the people of Pakistan would decide ‘which Pakistan’ they want. Khan said that the law should be same for those who steal a bicycle and those who shift billions of Rupees.

Disqualified Nawaz Sharif criticised the apex court in his speech delivered to the lawyers’ convention.

The former premier erected ‘palaces’ worth billions in London whilst his premiership. He repeatedly lied and filed bogus documents.

The PTI chief has rejected Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal’s claim that the country suffered loss of 14 billion dollar after the formation of Joint Investigation Team in Panama Papers case.

“Ahsan Iqbal should be ashamed of himself saying that, should we allow corruption? Country would not have suffered losses, if he (Nawaz Sharif) had resigned,” he said.=DNA
