PML-N leaders vow to fully support ex-PM Nawaz Sharif

ISLAMABAD, JUL 29 (DNA) – During an informal meeting in Islamabad, the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leaders have vowed to fully support former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.

The meeting chaired by Nawaz Sharif is being attended by senior leadership of the party including Chaudhry Nisar and ex-NAB chairman Saif-ur-Rehman.

The PML-N parliamentarians have assured Nawaz Sharif that they are ready to step down from assembly seats on his one signal

This meeting will be followed by a meeting of the parliamentary party of the PML (N) to be held at Punjab House at 4:00pm. Participants will discuss the situation arising out of the Panama Papers case verdict.

The meeting will also decide the name of next leader of the house.Earlier on Friday, Nawaz Sharif relinquished his responsibilities as the prime minister of Pakistan following the Supreme Court’s verdict in Panama Papers case.

A spokesperson for the PML-N said despite reservations regarding different phases of the Panama case proceedings, the decision of the apex court will be implemented.

The spokesperson pointed out that during the course of the proceedings of the case, new precedence s were set which we have not seen in the history of the country.

All the legal and constitutional options will be exercised regarding our reservations on the judgment, the spokesperson added.
