Customs recovers over 1,200 kg of smuggled items from bus
RAWALPINDI, JUN 11 (DNA) – The anti-smuggling cell of the Customs department recovered 1,225kg of smuggled items from a bus in an operation carried out in Dhudial, Chakwal on Sunday.
A statement by the Customs department stated that the confiscated items include Indian milk, 0.1 million CDs as well as 60,000 cigarettes, among other items. The market value of the seized goods is claimed to be around Rs 6 million.
Following operation, one person has been arrested while the bus has also been seized by Customs officials.
Upon receiving intelligence about the smuggling bid, Customs teams stopped the bus near Balkasar but it sped away and was finally stopped in Dhudial.=DNA
