Panama case decision on APRIL 20 at 2 PM
ISLAMABAD, APR 18: The Supreme Court shall announce Panama case verdict on April 20. The Court will announce verdict on April 20 at 2 pm. The five member bench shall announce the verdict.
the court had reserved verdict on Feb 23 and since then people were waiting for the verdict. The verdict will determine the future of the prime minister and the government.
The court is also likely to decide future of Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Capt Safdar, the son in law of the prime minister. The court is also likely to give ruling on the future role of Marriym Nawaz in politics.
The Panama case verdict is extremely important in the political history of Pakistan as it is likely to unfurl certain rules for accountability in the country. The court is likely to come down heavy on the NAB and its chairman because of their dismal performance.
It is also likely that the verdict shall not only be restricted to one family of one person. It is likely to comprehensively deal with grey areas, especially corruption.
The apex court on Tuesday issued a supplementary cause list. Meanwhile various political parties have expressed mixed reaction. PTI leader Naeemul Haq termed it a welcome step and hoped the decision shall be in the interest of the country.
