Veteran journalist Saleem Usmani dies; qul today
ISLAMABAD, FEB 19 (DNA) . Veteran journalist Saleem Usmani died of cardiac arrest on Sunday. Saleem Usmani was City Editor of The News Islamabad.
Usmani started his journalistic career from Daily The Muslim back in early 90s. He then served in Pakistan Observer and other publications. He was attached with The News for quite some time.
A down to earth and humble person, Usmani spent a simple and honourable life. He was indeed a gem of a person who devoted hi s life to facilitate others.
He had recently moved to his newly-built house in Media Town. Last week, The News promoted him as City Editor in recognition of his services he had rendered in the field of journalism.
The news of sudden death of Usmani has shocked his media colleagues in particular. His colleagues say he has some chest pain a few days back after which he underwent ECG, which according to doctors was normal.
People have prayed that Almighty Allah may rest his soul in peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
His qul dua shall take place at his Media Town residence Blcok C, Street No 05 near Jamia Masjid.=DNA
