Karachi needs targeted development, not operation: Waseem Akhtar

KARACHI (Dunya News) – While meeting the traders of Federation Of Pakistan Chambers Of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) on Monday, Karachi mayor Waseem Akhtar had a brief moment with media.
He claimed that bad politics is being played in Karachi, the city which generates 65pc of the country’s total revenue. “The provincial capital needs targeted development, not operation”, he said.
Waseem Akhtar looked displeased with the provincial government of Sindh as he stated, “If someone doesn’t like my face, I am ready to resign but then the Sindh government would have to make sure necessary development in Karachi”.
“Same kind of cases are registered against Imran Khan and Tahir ul Qadri but no one arrests them”, the MQM leader added while pointing towards the cases against him and Saleem Shahzad.
Karachi mayor claimed that he is working hard for the city despite receiving death threats on daily basis. Furthermore, the traders expressed full support to Waseem Akhtar in order to clean the city and initiate advancement projects.
