Pakistan gifted with plenty of resources, says Ambassador Emilian
ISLAMABAD, FEB 25 (DNA) – Dean of Europe Emilian ION Ambassador of Romania has appreciated incumbent government’s efforts to reach out to other countries for promoting relations in all fields including trade and economy. He said, the diplomatic corps will also extend fullest cooperation to the government in this regard.Ambassador Emilian was speaking on the occasion of a dinner hosted by President Mamnoon Hussain for the diplomatic corps, and top businessmen of the country, at Aiwan-e-Sadr.
Ambassador Emilian was invited by the President of Pakistan to deliver speech on behalf of the diplomatic corps.
The ambassador further said being the senior most ambassador under this roof it was his obligation to play as a bridge between the diplomatic community and the govt and various institutions with a view to cement bilateral relations.
He added, Pakistan was gifted with so many natural resources. Also the country had a great potential in the tourism sector. The tourism sector especially is and can further be a good source of revenues for the government if foreign tourists are encouraged to come to Pakistan. Being a representative of Romanian people in Pakistan and diplomatic community at large, it was his earnest wish to see foreign tourists and investors also, coming to Pakistan in large numbers.
Ambassador Emilian also emphasized need for a greater and coordinated role among the Pakistani chambers of commerce and chambers of other countries. He said people to people contacts were yet another tool of building new linkages.
He thanked the President of Pakistan on behalf of the diplomatic corps for providing them with an opportunity of interacting with top businessmen of the country adding such interactions on regular basis would definitely pay the dividends.
It may be mentioned here that Ambassador Emilian is one of the most senior ambassadors in town now and stands potential chances of becoming the next Dean of Diplomatic Corps after departure of the incumbent Dean next month=DNA
