Never thought hunting of rare birds to become foreign policy: Khan

ISLAMABAD,  23 JAN (DNA) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan twitted on Saturday regarding ban on the hunting of rare birds.

He said that he never thought that the hunting of endangered Houbara Bustard would become a pillar of our foreign policy, Imran Khan said on Twitter.

Imran Khan has also requested the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government not to lift the ban on the hunting of Houbara Bustard.

Early, the Supreme Court of Pakistan lifted the ban on the hunting of the Houbara bustard. Balochistan High Court in November 2014 cancelled all permits for hunting the rare birds.

Last year, three member bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan had banned the hunting of rare birds, while that decision welcomed by the wildlife departments.

But the federal and provincial governments approached the five member large bench to review the previous court decision in which the court said it had set aside its original decision to ban hunting of the birds DNA
