Pakistan gives priority to boost trade ties with Central Asian states: PM Nawaz
ASHGABAT, May 20 (DNA): Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif says Pakistan is giving priority to expand trade and economic relations with the Central Asian states.He was talking to the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in Ashgabat Wednesday.He said there exists tremendous potential of cooperation between Pakistan and Turkmenistan in different fields including trade and economy.The President of Turkmenistan in his remarks said both the countries share identical views on regional peace and stability. He said the two countries can enhance cooperation in agriculture, communication, telecommunication and other sectors.He also emphasized the need for greater people to people contacts between the two countries.Earlier, Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was accorded warm welcome on his arrival at the Presidential Palace here on Wednesday.Turkmenistan’s President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov receievd Prime Minister Sharif, who is on a two-day official visit to the Central Asian state.At the formal welcome ceremony, the Prime Minister was given guard of honour. A contingent of presidential guards presented salute to the Prime Minister.
