ISLAMABAD, SEP 23 /DNA/ – The Government of Pakistan has announced the appointment of Lieutenant General Nauman Mahmood, Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military), (Retired), as the first Secretary General under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement (MJDA), according to an official statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday.

In his new role, the Secretary General will lead the General Secretariat of the Alliance, which is being established in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The appointment marks a significant step in the institutionalization of the MJDA framework, with the General Secretariat set to serve as the central coordinating body for the Alliance’s defence cooperation mechanisms.
