Dar, Brazil FM discuss Pakistan-Brazil ties, multilateral coordination
ISLAMABAD, AUG 20 /DNA/ – Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar @MIshaqDar50 received a telephone call from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Ambassador Mauro Vieira.
The Brazilian Foreign Minister commended Pakistan’s constructive role and efforts towards mediation in the US-Iran context, underscoring the importance of dialogue and diplomacy for global peace and security. He also felicitated DPM/FM on Pakistan’s signing of the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement.
DPM/FM thanked him for his kind sentiments and appreciated Brazil’s important role in advancing South-South cooperation and commitment towards peace and stability.
The two sides underscored the importance of sustained high-level contacts and close coordination at the UN and other multilateral forums, reaffirming their commitment to multilateralism, dialogue and diplomacy.
Both sides also exchanged views on regional and international developments and agreed to remain closely engaged to further advance Pakistan-Brazil relations.
DPM/FM invited the Brazilian Foreign Minister to visit Pakistan, while H.E. Mauro Vieira reciprocated with an invitation to visit Brazil. Both agreed to remain closely connected and look forward to further strengthening bilateral ties.
