ICCI, Turkish business leaders celebrate Pakistan’s Independence Day
ISTANBUL, AUG 15 /DNA/ – The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) delegation, led by President Sardar Tahir Mehmood, joined Turkish business leaders in Istanbul to celebrate Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day. The two sides jointly cut the Independence Day cake, reaffirming the enduring bonds of friendship, brotherhood and economic cooperation between Pakistan and Türkiye.
Speaking on the occasion, ICCI President Sardar Tahir Mehmood said the freedom enjoyed by Pakistan was achieved through the immense sacrifices of the nation’s forefathers, making it the responsibility of every citizen to contribute to the country’s progress and prosperity.
He paid rich tribute to the Armed Forces of Pakistan, under the command of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, for their unwavering commitment, courage and sacrifices in safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and national security. He said the nation remains deeply grateful to its armed forces for standing as a strong shield of Pakistan and preserving the peace and security essential for economic development and prosperity.
He went on to say that Pakistan and Türkiye are bound by deep-rooted historical, cultural and fraternal ties, adding that the relationship now needs to be translated into a stronger and more dynamic economic partnership. He stressed that greater engagement between the private sectors of both countries can unlock substantial opportunities in trade, investment and joint ventures.
Sardar Tahir Mehmood reaffirmed ICCI’s commitment to facilitating stronger commercial engagement between Pakistani and Turkish businesses. He said the Chamber would continue providing platforms for entrepreneurs and investors from both countries to explore new markets, develop partnerships and convert mutual goodwill into tangible economic opportunities.
The Turkish business counterparts warmly congratulated the people of Pakistan on the country’s 79th Independence Day, expressing their sincere wishes for Pakistan’s continued peace, stability, prosperity and economic progress. They reaffirmed that the deep-rooted bonds of brotherhood between Türkiye and Pakistan would continue to grow stronger, particularly through enhanced trade, investment and business-to-business cooperation.
