ISLAMABAD, AUG 10 /DNA/ – Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Pakistan, Yerzhan Kistafin, paid a farewell call on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House today, upon the completion of his diplomatic tenure in Pakistan.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi, and Foreign Secretary Ambassador Amna Baloch.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister lauded Ambassador Kistafin’s contributions toward further solidifying the historic ties of friendship and cooperation between Pakistan and Kazakhstan. He particularly acknowledged the Ambassador’s pivotal role in facilitating the landmark visit of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Pakistan in February 2026—a visit that elevated bilateral relations to the level of a Strategic Partnership.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to the partnership, Prime Minister Sharif conveyed his warm regards to President Tokayev and underscored the government’s resolve to deepen cooperation across multiple domains. He emphasized enhanced regional connectivity, expanded trade and economic linkages, and closer collaboration in energy, education, and people-to-people exchanges as key pillars of the evolving relationship.

In response, Ambassador Kistafin expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister and the Pakistani government for the cooperation and assistance extended to him throughout his tenure. He voiced confidence that Pakistan-Kazakhstan relations would continue to flourish under the newly established strategic partnership framework.

Concluding the meeting, the Prime Minister wished the outgoing Ambassador success in his future assignments.
