CM welcomes US–Iran ceasefire, praises Pakistan’s role in promoting global peace
LAHORE, Apr 8: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif welcomed the ceasefire between the United States and Iran, describing it as a significant step toward global peace.
In her statement on Wednesday, she congratulated Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their sincere and unparalleled efforts in promoting peace at the global level. She remarked that Allah Almighty has chosen Pakistan to play a pivotal role in the establishment of peace, adding that no amount of gratitude would be sufficient for this blessing.
The CM said that Pakistan’s sincere and historic efforts for peace in the region and beyond have made the seemingly impossible possible. She also extended congratulations to the leadership of the United States, Iran, and other Islamic countries whose collective efforts, she noted, have brought relief and hope to billions of people.
She further stated that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir have played a vital role in averting a potential third world war. She added that Pakistan, emerging stronger after what she termed a “battle for truth,” has now become a central force for peace in the world.
Expressing optimism, Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that Pakistan’s continued sincere efforts would help ensure lasting peace and that global conflicts would increasingly be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy.
She said that in the history of global peace, the names of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir would be written in golden words.
